Different types of constant speed wire feeders

What are the different types of constant speed wire feeders used for melting gas shielded welding? What are the characteristics of each?

According to the relative position of the wire feed roller and the wire feed hose, the wire feed mechanism can be divided into three types: push wire, pull wire and push-pull wire.

①The push-wire feeder has the wire feed roller located behind the wire feed hose. This is one of the most widely used wire feeding mechanisms, which is characterised by its simple structure and lightweight welding gun. However, the wire has to pass through a long hose before it enters the torch and the resistance is high, so it is mainly used in situations where the wire feeding distance is less than 3m.

②The wire feed roller and wire feed motor are installed on the torch, which is characterised by stable and reliable wire feed, but the weight of the torch increases, adding to the labour intensity of the welders.

③ Push and pull the wire feeding mechanism while using the push wire motor and pull the wire motor, push the wire motor to provide the main power to ensure the stability of the wire feed; pull the role of the wire motor is to send the wire hose inside the wire straight, reducing the frictional resistance of the wire through the wire hose. The distance of this wire feeding mechanism can reach about 15m, but the mechanism is more complicated and is less used at present.
